starting the first assignment

LaVon is now in the 375 comm squadron here at Scott AFB.. His job is pretty chill right now, just in processing and training. he is pretty relieved that his office is pretty chill and that they are understanding of him and his family. LaVon is now an
E3.
on a funnier note, LaVon came home the other day and told me that he had been coin challenged... right when he told me that I knew he had lost because we had talked about that earlier and he had said he didn't want to carry around his coin. he was going to have to buy his whole office donuts but his commander switched it out for 25 perfect push ups instead, thank goodness- that would have been very expensive. Now that his wife has warned him and that he has lost a coin challenge he carries a coin with him wherever he goes. All I can say is that I warned him and now he knows for sure :)

home at last

LaVon graduated with an A in his class and came home on Saturday the 26th of September! It is a good feeling to have him home and spend some great quality time with him. He started his R.A.P. today which makes it less then two weeks until the big move to Illinois.

almost to the finish line

so LaVon is in the last stretch with tech school at Keesler AFB. His favorite thing he has done while in school has been setting up virtual networks. It is a good thing that he enjoyed it too, because that will be his job. LaVon is frequently in meetings and briefings for things such as his 15 day grad briefing and change of command parade briefing. LaVon is thinking he might advance his green rope to a yellow rope which is the next stage. In preparation for this he has been practicing the commands and actions that involve a lot of yelling which has in turn given him the raspy voice. His fellow students often compliment on well he does his responsibilities and encourage him to continue advancing on. He is a great leader and is pushing himself to be everything he can be!

standing for something!

AMN Salmon is doing very well as of late! he had a very long day as he volunteered to help the new arrivals yesterday and with his squadron going on lock down the same day. in this lock down he said that at least 10 people including one of the leaders got busted for marijuana possession! all that hard work put to waste! thank heavens LaVon was raised well and has standards that don't stoop that low! he also scored a 93 on his test today which means he will definitely have an A average GPA! we are so proud of his outstanding work and his even better character!

short week

LaVon's school week was short this week. He has a 3 day weekend and is looking forward to it. Tonight he was going bowling. Tomorrow he is going to see the latest and greatest Harry Potter movie and then Saturday night to Sunday morning has CQ duty. It is getting down to the end of it.. only 5 more weeks left!
